South Africa’s Nedbank has partnered with Crypto.com to pioneer blockchain-based payment solutions, targeting inefficiencies in cross-border transactions. The collaboration leverages Crypto.com’s infrastructure to enable instant rand-to-digital-dollar conversions and liquidity management, initially for retail users before expanding to institutional clients.

The initiative addresses Africa’s chronic pain points: exorbitant remittance costs, currency volatility, and opaque settlement systems.
